The Parker House opened in 1856. It is here that JFK announced his run for President. Writers, poets and philosophers gathered in the Parker House Bar. The first reading of Clement Moore's The Night before Christmas took place in the same lounge. The hotel is known as the Algonquin of Boston.
We are in what is 1/4 of The Joe Kennedy Suite. A large room with the smallest bathroom for so nice a hotel I have ever seen. You can barely turn around. I was going to complain and ask for another room but Sarah said she is happy with the room, so I let it go. The hotel is smack in the middle of the beginnings of the history of the United States right on the freedom trail. We overlook Kings Chapel and Old City Hall.

Elevator doors....

A fine old building
