The ride to Castine.....

The ride from Boston to Castine is about the same as NYC to Boston. We check out this sunny morning about 11 am. Getting out of the city is easy and I take the first driving shift. We decide to go the scenic route up coastal 1. Leaving Mass. You drive through the top Easter part of New Hampshire where we go on US 1. Over a bridge into Maine, US 1 drives through a section that is all outlet stores. I mean high end stores, Brooks Brothers, Ralph Lauren, etc. We stop at Brooks Brothers and Sarah picks up a couple of beautiful shirts and a pair of pants. I stop across the road and get some a gadget shirt from Columbia. I convoked Sarah to join the dark side and pick out some gadget pants and shirts for herself. She did pick out 2 shirts, black and white and two pants, black and tan color. Stay tune to see how she likes it. On our way out, I notice a Tumi store and wanted to get a new wallet. Everything we bought is discounted anywhere from 25 to 50 percent. The only thing It cost us was time and now we were very hungry. We drove back over the bridge to Portsmouth NH a wonderful, historic little town with waterfront dining. We got some adobe to on where to go so we stopped at the Oar House. I asked Sarah if she would be ok taking over the driving, when he gave me an affirmative, I order this drink called The Painkiller. Well actually it was two drinks. I was on easy street as we had a nice lunch with a wonderful view.
We knew we still had a ride ahead of us as it was now 3 pm, we had dinner reservations at the Pentagoet for 7:15. I figured we would make it just in time for dinner. Sure enough we got there, Sarah doing some excellent driving at 7: 05. Jack the owner gave us a big hug and warm welcome greeting. I said to Sarah why don't you relax in the bar, I will bring the bags up, no small task the way we pack for this road trip, and meet you back down in the bar.
Jack had my Ambassador at the ready waiting for me. An Ambassador is Bombay, Sapphire Gin, their own connection of ginger infused lemonade, a mint leaf and a wedge of lemon. PURE HEAVEN! As I looked around, sitting in my favorite leather chair engulfed in the energy of passport pub, a happy feeling swept over me, I looked at Sarah, reached for her hand and said "Great Choice to come back here", I knew we were home.
