Waking up to the soft breeze from the bay....

I sat up in bed, Sarah was still sleeping, my gaze looking out the turret window flooding our room with light. Our line of sight extends all the way down to the serene water of the Penobscot bay. Today was an uneventful day, Sarah tired from the driving, me as well. We went down to the local market, then around to visit the farmers' market in no rush to do or go anywhere. We each did our separate thing, Sarah catching up on some much deserved rest and me sitting on the porch catching up with Jack and his globe trotting travels. We finally ran into the lovely Julie, Jack's wife and I know Jack would not mind me saying the backbone of the Pentagoet Inn.
This day was a lazy, lazy day. While Sarah was sleeping, I took my morning walk around Castine. We spent the day on the porch reading, blogging, talking and just living "il dolce far niente" the sweetness of doing nothing.
We head up back to the room for some rest, maybe a nap then wash and dress for dinner. We went to the Passport Pub and as always started the evening with an Ambassador. I never drink as much as when I am here. The dinner menu consists of local seafood, organic greens and veggies. I had a wonderful slice tuna in a semi sweet paste with pine nuts. Sarah had the rib eye with garlic mash and spinach. All in all a wonderful meal. Sarah decided to head back up to the room as she was tired from the driving and drinks. I hung out in the pub for another cocktail and spent the late evening chatting with Jack. I will write a separate blog post on Jack because I feel he is an interesting, world traveled man with excellent adventure stories.
